Myrtos Beach Photo Stop:
Myrtos is without doubt one of the most important poles of attraction in Kefalonia. It is located 30km north of Argostoli, in a beautiful area around huge verdant hills. Myrtos beach has gained worldwide reputation and has been constantly included in travel magazines among the best beaches in Greece and in the world.
Assos Village:
Assos is a cosy and charming village located 36km north of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. It is built on a small peninsula and it is most known for its 16th century Venetian castle that totaly worths a visit. The traditional architecture, the peaceful landscape and the pebbled beaches compose the natural beauty of Assos. In the village there are colorful houses with pink and white blooms, lovely paths and old traditional churches. Visitors are mostly attracted by the little taverns that are just above the bay. The visit to the castle requires a long walk through the olive tree forest thus making it quite relaxing and refreshing.
Fiscardo Village :
Fiskardo is a beautiful village located 50 km north of the capital of Kefalonia (Argostoli). Unlike the rest of the villages and towns of Kefalonia, Fiskardo remained untouched by the major earthquake of 1953, thus making it prettily scenic and picturesque. The village of Fiskardo is also the northemost port of Kefalonia at which every summer come many private yachts giving it a cosmopolitan and warm atmoshpere. There is great amount of tourism in this cosy village but it manages to hold its beuty and uniqueness against all odds. The main costal road hosts many shops, taverns and bars that welcome tourists. Nearby the village there are many beautiful pebbled beaches and coves with crystilline waters and also the ruins of a Palaeolithic settlement and plenty of Byzantine churches. Just above the waterfront of the village lies the Natural and Environmental Museum that definitely worths a visit.
